Katonah Yoga Immersion
NEW: Adjustment Training
with Steffi Grube & Lisa Fraipont
Thursday Focus:
TeAchers AdjustmenT
On Thursday, we’ll dive deep into Katonah Yoga Adjustment — a powerful tool for learning to read the body like a map, seeing patterns, structure, and story.
Expect hands-on partner work to understand how alignment shapes not just posture, but imagination and energy.
-
In Katonah Yoga, the body is a house - 3 floors & 9 rooms. Adjustment is how we learn to read that house: where a floor or a room is doing too much work, where a window needs more air, where foundation has lost touch with the attic. Working in pairs, you’ll practice this reading with your hands and eyes, feeling for the lines that run through someone else’s structure, and discovering that alignment is never just physical. It’s an act of imagination as much as geometry: seeing the shape a body wants to become, and helping it find the way there.
Friday & Saturday Focus:
Katonah Yoga Self -Adjustment with Props
On Friday and Saturday, we’ll explore how props - blocks, chairs, walls - provide frameworks for navigating our bodies with greater clarity.
Expect hands-on exploration and partner work, with plenty of practical ways to bring props into your own practice and teaching.
-
Props in Katonah Yoga aren’t a workaround - they’re part of the map. Blocks, chairs, walls: each one holds a line, a boundary, an edge the body can lean into and learn from. Across these two days, we build the Magic Square with props as scaffolding, using their straight edges to find the round, buoyant shape we’re actually after - the Sphere. You’ll practice both as a student, feeling how a well-placed prop changes what’s possible, (and if you are a teacher, gathering concrete, repeatable ways to bring this into your own classes).
Saturday Evening/ night
Community Snacks & Drinks
Let’s hang out together!!
-
After a day of hands-on work, we gather without agenda - snacks, drinks, and the kind of conversation that only happens once everyone’s already let their guard down on the mat. No structure here, just the circle widening to include everyone in the room.
Sunday Focus:
Katonah Yoga Restoratives – Creating Time, Holding Space & Self-Adjustment
Sunday is dedicated to slowing down. Through Katonah Yoga restoratives, we’ll explore breath, supported postures, and Katonah’s approach to structure and imagination — building inner architecture that offers refuge, regulation, and resilience.
We’ll also dive into the nervous system, gaining practical tools for restoring balance and leaving the week grounded, held, and resourced.
-
Restoratives close the loop the rest of the weekend opens. Supported by props, the body is held rather than worked - and in that stillness, the same architecture we’ve been building all weekend becomes something you can rest inside of. We’ll spend time with the nervous system directly: what regulation actually feels like, how breath moves it, and how to carry that sense of being held back into a week that rarely offers it.
