Thursday Focus:

Katonah Yoga Bodyreading

On Thursday, we’ll dive deep into Katonah Yoga Bodyreading.

This is a unique and powerful tool to understand how a person inhabits their body. Using Katonah principles, we’ll learn to observe patterns and tendencies - seeing the body like a map that tells a story, and landscape with familiar and not often travelled places. You'll gain insight into how structure informs function and how alignment influences not just how we carry ourselves, but also imagination and energy.

This day will include partner work, hands-on exercises, and a lot of practice reading and being read, so you can better understand your own body and support others more skillfully.

Friday & Saturday Focus:

Katonah Yoga Map Reading

On Friday and Saturday, we’ll explore one of the most fascinating aspects of Katonah Yoga: Maps.

In Katonah Yoga, we work with a variety of metaphorical and literal maps - the Magic Square, the body as a housethe seasons, and the cycles of time - to just name a few. These maps are tools for orientation: they help us locate ourselves physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

Through practice, theory, and discussion, we’ll learn how these maps provide frameworks for navigating our lives and our bodies with greater clarity and precision. We'll look at how to apply them in asana, in breathwork, and in personal reflection. Think of it as learning how to read the terrain of your own internal landscape - so you can see where you are, where you tend to go, and how to steer yourself toward where you'd like to go.

Expect hands-on exploration, partner work, and plenty of practical ways to integrate these maps into your own practice (and your teaching).

Sunday Focus:

Katonah Yoga Restoratives – Creating Time, Holding Space

Sunday is dedicated to slowing down.

Through Katonah Yoga restorative practices, we’ll explore the art of digesting—not just information, but experience, emotion, and life itself. In a world that moves faster and faster, restorative work is a radical act of reclaiming time and presence.

How can we create spaciousness in our body and mind when everything around us speeds up? How do we hold ourselves when things feel overwhelming? Through breath, supported postures, and Katonah’s unique approach to structure and imagination, we’ll learn how to build inner architecture that provides refuge, regulation, and resilience.

This day will also be a deep dive into the nervous system—one of Steffi’s favorite topics. You'll gain practical tools for restoring balance, as well as insight into how your physiology responds to stress, stillness, and structure. It’s the perfect way to integrate and embody everything from the week, and to leave grounded, held, and resourced.
